OMW was founded in 2019 by Meghna Lakhani. Born and raised in Spain, she lived in multiple countries and has always had environmental values as part of her life which sparked the birth of OMW.
One Modern World has expanded its team and is 100% women-led, with Esther Dahmen (Sustainability Consultant), Juncal Marcellan (Corporate Manager) and Doua Benhida (Marketing Manager) as part of the team.
We all have our expertise, background, and knowledge on sustainability, and together, we create a unique value proposition that makes One Modern World stand out from the crowd.
Starting with reusable bottles as an alternative to single-use plastic bottles, we continued to expand our portfolio to sustainable packaging. We noticed that many of our customers did not have available alternatives to their disposable product. Since most of them are in the hospitality industry, they have shown a massive interest in replacing single-use plastic packaging with biodegradable alternatives.
Some of our clients implement their green values by eliminating plastic within their organizations by choosing for their employee’s reusable options from our product range and customize them with their logo and message.
One Modern World is wholeheartedly customer-centric, as both our consulting services and products are customized to fit our clients’ needs.
For our services, while we offer expertise on the subject, we ensure that we answer what the customer wants and offer the best possible solutions to get them one step closer to being a sustainable business, keeping in consideration to fulfil the local regulations and guidelines.
To give you an example, we’ve teamed up with water filtration companies to bring full service to clients who want to move away from bottled water. Plastic bottles are one of the main pollutants of the earth along with other single-use items like cups, stirrers, and straws, which make up 20% of beach litter.
The UAE has a dynamic business environment with visionary leadership. This is also evident in the ambitious plans for a green recovery after the pandemic, which makes the UAE an ideal place for a sustainable start-up like ours.
Given the positive business environment and the increased pressure on our economy to become more attuned to nature, we are very optimistic about our business model since 2019 and our future growth plans.
